They watched the stock market and kept up to date on current events taking investment opportunities no human could see. This tactic single-handedly multiplied his wealth tenfold. He was the life of every party, and there was no shortage of women tripping over themselves to get into his pants. As for his charitability, he regularly donated absurdly large sums of money to various causes. In addition, he was personally invested in the next generation of scientists, scholars, and engineers. Buying their goodwill in ways few could match with grants and scholarships.
In the face of all his accomplishments, people often forgot his roots, and that the secret to peace was having the bigger stick.
They ignored the fact that the biggest sticks all have one thing in common. His name is on the side. He was the merchant of death long before anyone called him Iron man.
