Halloween/Vampire AU in which events happened in accordance with canon up until the first kiss. Bernie and Serena have been avoiding each other for several weeks but Bernie wasn’t given the opportunity to transfer to Kiev.
Serena's recent erratic behaviour and absence from work have puzzled Jason, and he believes that he has come up with the only legitimate reason for her behaviour. Bernie decides to investigate.
“So how else would you explain the aversion to sunlight and food, exceedingly pale skin, sleeplessness, not wanting to leave the house and general evasiveness about her whereabouts during the last 72 hours?” his voice was rising in panic now. “If she had become a member of the undead, don’t you think she should have told me?”
