This story takes place as an aftermath to the events of the light novel, 'Osamu Dazai's Entrance Exam'; for anime viewers, after the 'Azure Apostle Arc'.
After seeing both, Sasaki and Rokuzo die, in front of him, unable to prevent such a bloody outcome, Kunikida's health takes a turn for the worse. His mind becomes a minefield, were he to be left to his thoughts for even a second, the images of their faces turning pale flashed around him. Due to this, he ended up letting his personal well-being deteriorate, over-working to rid himself of the dread and despair that follows him every vacant second. Noticing this predicament, Dazai takes it upon himself to help out his new partner. For something in his heart burns, making him take fault for how Kunikida turned out to be. But how does one assist a partner drowning in a void of darkness? Well the internet says, to lessen their responsibilities! Decided it was, and Dazai set out with a bag of supplies. Here comes Housekeeper Dazai, to take the world- or in this case, the Doppo household, by a storm!

Chuuya nakahara has always been quite a troublesome boy always causing trouble and mayhem , volatile and unpredictable in nature . Sitting alone and reading boring texts about nature or history for hours on end isn't in his nature after all he prefers a little spice to life . Well , if there's someone whose the complete opposite , it's Dazai . dazai is the complete opposite of chuuya . lanky , thin , shy and with bandages all around his arms . where chuuya likes to play with toy cars and watch avengers dazai would be better off playing with a science kit and observing ants gather food for hours on end . well , fate has a funny way of playing things out .
basically ,chuuya technically bullied dazai in middle school and then he falls in love with him in college but it turns out that he may have competition.
