Summary
Cloud collapses backwards onto the bed as Sephiroth releases him, his lover finally content with the passionate, almost jealous way in which he has so obviously staked a claim on his boyfriend. The sudden absence of Sephiroth’s delicious body heat leaves Cloud’s own lean form shivering on the bed sheets, and his attention is quickly drawn back to the still form waiting at the edge of the bed.
His features are so different from Sephiroth's, so diametrically opposed in nature that it creates a jarring feeling of disorientation. But as the quiet figure shifts again, bringing his face closer to Cloud's and fixing him with a reverent, almost worshipful gaze, that sense of confusion gives way to a flood of familiarity and warm affection.
Zack. He lets out a small, trembling breath through his wavering smile, clearly nervous and seeming ready to flee at a moment’s notice, as though they might demand that he leave at any instant.
Cloud huffs out a quiet laugh, unable to help himself from finding the usually confident SOLDIER’s nervousness endearing. If Cloud and Sephiroth didn’t want for Zack to be here, then they wouldn’t have gone through the trouble to set up this arrangement, now would they?

The planet has returned Sephiroth to life as a completely unenhanced human. No longer a demi-god, Sephiroth struggles to adapt to life as a human. Cloud, on the other hand, struggles to adapt to life with Sephrioth.
As age-old grudges and long-lost romance bubble under the surface, will this new life give them both a chance at happiness? Or will it just tear them apart?

Sephiroth doesn't understand where this strange infantryman suddenly came from, or why he seems so determined to spend time together.

The sickness had already wasted Cloud’s mother away to nearly nothing, and Cloud knew the illness had already settled in his own lungs. It might have been easier for Cloud to burn alive with his mother when the villages came to purge the illness from their mountain.
But Cloud’s unchanging friend Zack would never have allowed it.
Living with a coven of vampires may prove almost pleasurable for Cloud, but it wont last long if he cannot convince their leader to end Cloud’s fragile, human life and give him a new one.

It was true that Sephiroth had been watching Cloud ever since he distinguished himself among the ranks of the infantry when he was eighteen. He was strong and fast and possessed of a formidable will, but there was a goodness to him that had yet to be tainted by Midgar, Shinra, or Sephiroth’s command.
Now that Cloud had joined SOLDIER, it was harder for Sephiroth to turn his gaze away, though he did his best to hide such weaknesses however he could. Somehow, Hojo had figured it out. Not only that--he had shared his discovery with President Shinra, who had decided that Strife, a valuable and powerful combatant, would make a fine gift for the company’s poster child.
It made him feel momentarily sick with anger.

Summary
Sephiroth, Angeal, Genesis, and Zack live in a small, close-knit pack of wolf shifters deep in the mountains. They rarely see outside interference and certainly never in the dead of winter. Still, some hunter must have made their way into their territory, because Zack finds himself gravely injured after stumbling into an unexpected bear trap.
Thirsty for revenge, Sephiroth tracks down the hunter responsible and attacks on sight. He only stops his assault when he catches the faint scent of omega.
