Summary
Yet another ‘Jim is a Changeling’ AU, with a twist! Instead of being canon-compliant for a while before Jim gets caught off-guard by turning trollish, he’s a Changeling in the usual way and aware that the human James Lake Junior is his Familiar.
Changeling Jim enjoyed his cover. Human food was far better than troll food. Dr Barbara Lake was an affectionate mother, but absent often enough that his duties to the Janus Order went unnoticed. The neighbour Toby was acceptable company and kept Jim from looking suspicious for having no friends his apparent age. Once in high school, he could slip reports directly to Stricklander along with mundane homework.
And then, of course, Merlin’s Amulet just had to choose Jim as the next Trollhunter.

As usual, Merlin has utterly failed in keeping a low profile by inadvertently getting himself dragged into a mess of a situation that appears to have something to do with a seemingly unkillable snake man, a toad woman, an order of phoenixes, and a boy named Harry Potter who, he quickly finds, is equally bemused by his current predicament. When he discovers how lost the boy is, he resolves to help him and his friends get rid of this dark lord--as well as their malignant (and worse, ineffectual) new teacher.

Summary
She recruited Abe, Sally, Betty (aspiring journalist that she was), and showed them the less-stalkerish half of her notebook. Sally spent a good fifteen minutes wiping away the tears she’d cried from laughing so hard at Cindy’s theories (which, rude, she’d put a lot of thought into those). Betty wanted to know whether it could be something simple but not so silly (again, so rude! Her friends were such dastardly people!). But then none of them had any ideas of what it was.
