Summary
Osomatsu was born an outlaw, lives as an outlaw, and would probably die as an outlaw.
He's fine with that, had never imagined any other life for himself or sought anything but what he could get. He might be forced to, however, when a false accusation sends him to prison and changes his life completely. What follows is a painful, slow recovery, burdened by tragedy after tragedy that keeps pulling Osomatsu further down into misery. Will he ever find his way back into peace and happiness? Will he ever get revenge over the man that has continuously ruined his life ever since he was a child?
Or, perhaps, was he fated to suffer up until the end, no matter how valiantly he might struggle?

Summary
Todomatsu, the bake-danuki, has a get rich-quick-scheme for him and the merchant that rescued him. However, he decides to act alone and climb Mount Oso all by himself for the most precious sake in the region. The shuten-douji that rules the mountain captures him trying to steal his sake reserves and decides on a way for him to pay him back.
