"No," Kolivan said, shifting on his feet. He clutched his holotablet like it would somehow rescue him from this situation. The absence of the man's usual detached confidence was off-putting, and Keith twitched with unease. "I have received news from the Castle."

Keith lurched from the bed, on his feet in seconds. "What?"

    "The blue paladin is missing."

or: Keith is away with the Blades, and Lance goes missing.

    Summary

And in some kind of ironic and twisted way, they ended up back in the Garrison.
Lance had put his mind onto graduating, getting his degree and following the path of becoming a serious professor, putting use of his past war trauma and experience to help forming generations preventing past mistakes and failures, maintaining the galactic peace they had lost so much for, fought so much for.
That's how they ended up as being 'just' some generic teachers at the most serious military school in America.

Lance and Keith, teachers at the Garrison, are trying their best to teach their students, gaining their degrees and working on building a steady life. But right now, Keith is getting sick and is denying any type of rest and instead keeps on pushing through.
