Summary
“Look at me, In-ho-ya,” he laughed, bitter and hollow. “I barely recognize myself anymore, and it’s all your fault.”
After discovering Young-il's face under the Front Man's mask, Seong Gi-hun is thrust nine years into past and trapped in yet another cycle of the games. But it doesn't take long for him to discover who is playing alongside him— Hwang In-ho, the future Front Man.
So he takes upon himself one more mission, his only desire that still anchors him to the living world: kill the Front Man before he's even allowed to come into existence.
Kill Hwang In-ho.
Sort of a Role Reversal Time Travel AU in which a jaded Gi-hun is the one staring down In-ho as he plays in the 2015 Games and plotting his downfall. And slowly but surely, loses his own humanity in the process.

Summary
"I’m aware of that.” In-ho paused to adjust his watch before asking, “How can I prove myself then? I’d like for you to trust me.”
“I do trust you. But what I want is for you to trust yourself." Il-nam stopped, his expression growing considerate. "Has it perhaps been too long since you participated in the games, that now you forget how it felt to be a contestant? Is that what's hindering your recognition of why they're necessary?”
Unsure of how to respond, In-ho returned the ramble with a small nod. “Maybe.”
For the first time that day, he witnessed a smile spread across Il-nam’s face, “Then why not play in them once more?”
or, In-ho competes in the 33rd annual Squid Game to prove his loyalty to Il-nam. In them he meets Seong Gi-hun, who complicates things. Greatly.

Summary
In-ho’s coffee leaps into the air, high enough that he’d laugh if he wasn’t (literally) seeing red. The hot liquid rains down, splattering all over his white button-up.
Seong Gi-hun is mortified, his face matching the shade of his hair as he realizes what he’s just done.
“Oh my god!” he cries, grabbing a handful of napkins from the register. “I’m so sorry! I wasn’t looking where I was going!”
In-ho's never believed in karma. If karma was real, Oh Il-nam would’ve died ages ago. If karma was real, he would've died in his games. But he didn't.
Maybe, somehow, this is his karma.
Gi-hun gets on the plane to L.A. In-ho follows with one goal and one goal only: make sure Gi-hun sets roots in America. Make sure he doesn’t return to the games.
But when In-ho (or rather, Young-il) continuously bumps into Gi-hun, he realizes this might be harder than he initially thought. Especially with how Gi-hun’s looking at him. Karma’s a bitch.
