Dabi slurps noodles once more.
“Did you…um,” Fuyumi adds next, “ever run into each other?”
“I tried to kill him,” Dabi says next. “I burned his wings.”
There’s a squeak. Natsuo’s and Fuyumi’s eyes widen.
“Don’t worry,” Hawks reassures. “I lived.”
“Stubborn bastard,” Dabi grumbles almost immediately. He lifts the bowl to sip broth. “I threw him out a window.”
“I lived then, too,” Hawks reassures before they can have another scandalized gasp. “Don’t worry. It’s how he shows his affection.”

Post-war, Todoroki Touya is pardoned from his crimes, while Hawks gains a new title: the Dabi Whisperer.

"It’s in silent agreement that they drop the discussion, Hawks nodding to himself and Shouto looking passive as ever, if not a bit more pale. They clean up their dishes quietly, teacups clinking in the sink, dirty laundry aired, secrets hanging heavy from the washing line. Somehow, Hawks gets the sense than neither of them are leaving the conversation with a lighter heart than how they arrived, but there’s not much to be done about it, really.
These aren’t the kind of problems that a quick chat will fix."Summary: A shocking run-in with Dabi while on patrol leaves Hawks with an unsettled feeling in his gut and questions that only a small number of people can answer: a UA student he barely knows, a pro hero who won't give him the time of day, and an arsonist who won't pick up his damned phone. He takes his chances with the first one, and while he wasn't exactly expecting his findings to be pleasant, he wasn't anticipating anything like this.

While reviewing audio from a meeting between Hawks and Dabi, the Hero Public Safety Commission come across a clip with some... compromising information on their relationship. The information being that they're in a relationship, and Hawks and Dabi are absolutely making out in the recording.
Hawks convinces them that the relationship is fake, to get closer to Dabi and gain more personal information.
It's harder to pretend that you're pretending to date someone than Hawks expects.
