His hard expression carried the words ‘And I won’t waste it on you’.

With a little bit of humor, and a lot of love disguised as mere friendship, he is determined to convince Tighnari to play the game too. And once he does, he'll at last be able to confess, non-verbally, through playing to his strengths and winning the game.

Alhaitham had always thought that Kaveh was his only exception to everything. So why does he suddenly not mind that two more people are invading his space, his house and his quiet? It seems there is only so much you can go through together, from endless game nights to fighting a coup, before you implicitly start trusting each other.

Summary
Tighnari and Cyno aren't blind to Kaveh's affection towards Alhaitham, and they decide they wouldn't mind bringing a fourth into their little-found family. But Alhaitham's walls are more than just figurative, and they'll have to work hard to draw the scribe from his uneasy shell. If only Alhaitham could get out of his own head long enough to listen to them.
