“Stephen,” he calls, voice low and coaxing. Gently, he once again tries to beckon over his partner. “You promised.”
Stephen Strange stands frozen where the wet sand kisses his feet. His hands are clenched at his sides, tension radiating off him like heat. His gaze isn’t on Namor’s face, but on the water, vast and restless, reminding him without mercy of how the water had robbed him of his sister, so many years ago.
“I… I didn’t promise today,” Stephen murmurs, but his tone is weak with guilt.
