Summary

Summary
The war still rages on after the Battle of Hogwarts. Draco Malfoy is still tied to Voldemort and the Death Eaters, and despite the pleas of a certain Muggleborn girl, he refuses to switch sides. Little does Hermione know that he wants to, but can't for reasons he refuses to tell her.
But when the situation becomes dire, Draco must make a choice, the result of which will permanently seal his fate, for better or worse.

“How did you end up as a Death Eater?”
The look of amusement vanished from his features, leaving them colder, harsher in the magical light. “Getting a bit personal for our second date, aren’t you?”
“Getting a bit unprofessional for a healer, aren’t you?” she quipped back.
She watched as he clenched and then released his left hand - his wand hand - against his knee, his pale fingers a stark contrast against his black robes. His face remained impassive.
“Do not mistake me for a healer just because I can heal, Granger,” he said, his voice low. There was an edge to it now that she hadn’t heard before, and it sent a shiver down her spine.
He stood, his posture perfectly straight. Tall. Regal. Haughty.
She was sure she knew him. She was equally sure she had no idea who he was.

An injury causes Hermione to lose some of her memories and places her under the care of Death Eater Draco Malfoy, a man she simply cannot figure out but who seems to know plenty about her, while Voldemort waits in the shadows for her memories to return.

He glanced around the Potions lab and his eyes caught on Granger. The interior was gloomy, as always. Dimly lit in a way that sometimes made it impossible to make out the words in their textbooks. The room severely lacked any charm, but did have this absurdly curved window that allowed some natural light to peek into the dungeon. It was that moment that she moved her body just so and the light from the window reflected off the myriad of ingredient bottles and onto her. Every freckle, every small insignificant detail of her face, was now lit with hundreds of refracted colors.
She comes in colors everywhere.
Draco quickly looked back at his work table, silently tapping the beat to the Rolling Stones cover he had discovered that summer.
He needed a way in with her. She was unfathomable to him at this point.
