Summary
During the 'easier' episodes Ilya can manage.
Usually he can gather enough strength to get out of bed, even if it's just to slouch around the cottage or outside. He'll eat whatever Shane puts in front of him. He'll put on a brave face when Yuna and Dave come over to visit. And then when the evening rolls around he's so exhausted he falls asleep around eight.
The 'heavy' episodes are harder.
Ilya will spend most of the day sleeping. He will eat small bites of whatever Shane gives him, sometimes nothing at all. Showering is out of the question. If it's a particular bad episode, he won't even leave the bed.
Shane is scared to leave Ilya alone during the 'heavy' episodes.
He knows Ilya wouldn't hurt himself on purpose. But he also knows that depression is very complex and sneaks up on their victims when they're most vulnerable.
Or, Ilya experiences a bad depression episode. Shane is there to catch him when he falls.

Summary
Ilya notices something is wrong the second Shane steps inside his condo.
It's not so much the fact that he doesn't return Ilya's greeting. Or how he avoids his eyes while stepping inside, already busy taking off his jacket.
It's the lack of a smile on his face. The dark circles underneath his eyes. His bottom lip bitten raw.
They have been together long enough for Ilya to know everything there is to know about Shane. Even now, almost 7 years after they first started this 'thing' between them, he still learns new details.
But if there is one thing Ilya understands all too well, it's that something isn't right when Shane grows quiet.
Or, Shane breaks down after a rough couple of months and Ilya is there to pick up the pieces

Summary
Draco can't stop shaking.
Which shouldn't be strange, seeing Draco is always shaking. There is always a part of him that trembles. His hands, most of the time. Sometimes his legs, some days even the corner of his mouth. Other days it's noticeable in his shoulders.
The overuse of the Cruciatus Curse does that to a person.
But he is never shaking like he is right now; body underneath Harry and vibrating so hard Harry is scared he'll tip right off the edge of the bed.
Or, Draco is left with permanent nerve damage and Harry learns to deal with the aftermath by loving Draco right through it

''Steven fell in love.''
She blinks slowly, the words taking their sweet time hovering between them before making sense. Layla breathes out a sigh of relief, smiling fondly in case Steven is watching.
''Oh. That's- Is that it?'' She asks, smiling again when Jake nods. He is pointedly not watching at the candleholder where Steven is probably scolding him. Layla hopes he isn't too mad at Jake and he will see that his 'problem' doesn't have to be a problem at all.
Layla tries to contain her excitement as she speaks. ''But that's great! Falling in love is amazing. I understand Steven is a bit nervous but he really shouldn't be-''
''It's Marc.'' Jake closes his eyes in defeat, obviously feeling guilty for spilling a truth that is not his. ''Steven is in love with Marc.''
Or, Steven falls in love with Marc and somehow it ends up with them getting separated.

Summary
"You're ridiculous." In-ho laughs, he can't help it. Somehow his lover always knows what to say, even if it is something silly as this. A small, deep, secret part of him was scared that Gi-hun would regret it. Marrying someone as damaged at In-ho. He is still working on believing he is deserving of Gi-hun.
"I am. But that is why you love me so much."
Their bodies press closer, left hands finding each other. In-ho entwines their fingers, trying not to cry by the sight of their wedding bands pressed together. He cried so much already yesterday he didn't think it would be possible to have any tears left. Guess he was wrong.
"I do." He promises quietly, "And I will love you for an infinite time to come."
Or, Gi-hun and In-ho seal their marriage the morning after their wedding.

Gi-hun tries not to give in. He tries, despite his poor heart begging him to give in. There was a time wherein he thought he loved him. Young-il. But it's difficult to see him as he is, as In-ho.
''You take one step towards us and I'll-''
In-ho holds out his palm as a peace offering. ''I'm not here to take her away from you. Nor am I here to cause you any more harm.''
He frowns, can't help it. ''Then why are you here? And why did you press the-''
''I'm here to finish the game. I'm going to make sure a minimum of one person is going to fall over the edge within the ten minute mark.'' In-ho sighs and Gi-hun notices how tired he looks. ''And that person is going to be me.''
Or, In-ho takes Gin-ho's place in the last game to save him. (Except they both live to see another day.)

Summary
Logan didn't notice at first.
That's understandable, of course. He was busy fighting off the merc with a mouth who wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. Wade just waltzed into his pathetic excuse of a life and made it his personal mission to force Logan into a whole new one. A life wherein he can look in the mirror and don't hate what he sees.
The thing is, he didn't notice at first.
He didn't notice how Wade always seems to shy away during sex.

When his body finally decides it's enough, Richie doesn't know what to do. He feels utterly confused and for a mere second he can't remember where he is. The room spins, leaving him dizzy.
Richie tries to catch his breath, only to realise he can't. It feels like he's choking, like there isn't enough air in the room. Anxiety claws at his chest making breathing all the more difficult.
Suddenly he seems to realise that something is very wrong.
Or, another fix-it wherein everybody lives but Richie gets seriously injured while saving Eddie.

This thing between them has been brewing for so long Peter can't even remember how long exactly. Wade keeps flirting to make sure Peter knows he's interested (and he knows, okay?) and Peter keeps shying away despite being interested as well.
And it's not like Peter is afraid he'll get rejected. Wade is as interested as anyone can be. He knows that Wade worships the ground he walks on and he'll do everything to make Peter happy. He's scared of something much more mundane.
How hard would Wade laugh if he'd knew Peter is a virgin deadly afraid of having sex?

Sam understands it isn't simply feeling tired. People find it hard to understand that depression is feeling completely empty and heavy at the same time. It's finding it impossible to get out of bed, catching up with friends, maintaining basic tasks like eating, drinking, or showering.
''I'm so tired.'' Bucky whispers.
Sam swallows against the lump in his throat at those words. He knows what they mean.

The other man doesn't answer. He simply steps closer, harshly grabbing Sam's chin to force his attention back to him. ''Answer the question, Mr. Wilson.'' he repeats. Sam is getting really tired of hearing the same fucking question over and over again. He isn't going to answer, anyway.

The younger man hums and slams the trunk close again. Bucky is quiet for a moment but Sam can hear him moving a little, the soft buzzing of his vibranium arm when he shift.
''I fucked up.''
Sam freezes, his hand hovering in the air with the car keys inside. Panic grips his lungs in a death-grip when he hears Bucky's voice again, suddenly audible trembling with emotions. He turns around, his eyes falling on the warehouse in the distance. It suddenly looks haunted, mocking him from where it stands far away.
Too far away.
Or, Bucky gets seriously injured during a mission.
