Summary
Damon never tells him that he hasn’t invited the others; Alex knows it anyway. He arrives at Damon’s house in Reykjavik and feels lucky enough to be slightly embarrassed of it. He leaves his things in a guest bedroom, but only ever returns there first thing each morning for fresh pants and socks.
The first day, they don’t even leave the sitting room. They watch the sun set out the great bay windows from the sofa, and the room settles into a deep blue and Damon turns to look at him, eager and expectant, and all Alex wants to tell him is that he looks well.

Damon takes off for Iceland in the middle of recording for Self-Titled. The others eventually join him, to each of their detriment.

Summary
Damon and Alex were arguing in a pleasant hum about the best way to get rid of a ghost. Damon insisted that the ghost materialized to warn Alex of something unresolved in his life. Graham wished he were a cat or a dog or a kind of burrowing creature so he could crawl in his lap and hide himself in the space between Damon’s collarbone and his Adam’s apple, chew his throat to pieces with his sharp teeth.
There was a ghost in the halls of residence.

Summary
“It’s not even eight.” Damon stated, “doesn’t sound like it’ll stop any time soon.” They had been out in the woods, bashing about and bird watching, climbing trees and pushing each other over and throwing things. The whole day spent outside in barefoot hooliganism. Graham wondered if they were too old for all that now and felt embarrassed just in case.
A camping trip, a rainstorm, some teenage frustration and a few conflicting feelings.

Summary
The show that night is poor: the speakers sound a bit shit, and somehow, they’ve oversold the tickets, so the gig’s chock-full, in a place that’s too hot to be this crowded. Damon’s in a sour mood, as he often is when he’s forced to be in one place and would rather be someplace else. He goes loud, aggressive, and pointedly annoyed, pent-up in a way that Graham recognizes from various pubs in Colchester. A pressure often only relieved when someone ended up with a black eye, usually Damon.
