The littoral zone is the bit where the sea, or the lake, meets the land…it’s a sort of liminal spaceGurathin and Murderbot go on a little mission together on a survey planet. They’ve been chosen by the “priestesses”, influential humans in the local community, for reasons which are apparently opaque to most of the characters in the story. At least initially. On the way they have to travel by sea and land and encounter some of the planet’s fauna and flora.
I just wondered how Gurathin and Murderbot would get along on a boat (not a ship)

Begins by delving into how and why the connection between a human healer and Elven soldier evolved, and then tweaks events to give us more time with them early in the story. Diverges along an alternate path for Bronwyn and her people, based on a guess about where they might end up, what Theo's future might be, and where we could see their descendants living in the third age…and what Alfirin flowers have to do with it all.
Updates mostly paused while I try to squeeze in time to finish a longer running wheel of time piece (Reborn) that is closer to its planned ending; I’ll be back for this one, it’s just that trying to alternate them on very limited time was disrupting my thought process too much. If I pop in with a new chapter but then disappear again, that’s why :) I’ll be back, especially now (Aug. ‘24) that is seems clear I’ll need to give Arondir and Bronwyn the ending they deserved.)

Summary
After escaping from Separatist fighters, their ship is heavily damaged, and they are forced out of hyperspace and have to crash land on an uninhabited planet. The Marauder sustained enough damage that they don't know if they'll be able to get off the planet again, and all of them were injured in the landing. Somehow, they must come together so that they can all survive, and maybe find a way back to the war.
Set during the Clone Wars, after Echo joins the team.

It was a stupid accident. We’d identified the presence of space debris in this sector, including pieces large enough to deflect the course of a small transport; but my Risk Assessment Module was happily burbling in the low teens (it really needs replacing, but I’m quite fond of its optimism now) and ART had calculated the risk of an actual collision as approximately 1 in 159,753. But of course we were that one.
And of course the client I was with would be that one.
