Summary
basically a 5+1 in which Buck and Eddie kiss each other goodbye and one time they kiss each other hello
“It’s all good, Buck. Have a safe shift, I’ll be back in a few, okay?”
Buck nods as he watches Eddie open the door. Turning back to him, Buck doesn’t have enough time to process what’s happening before he feels Eddie’s lips on his in a brief kiss.
“Take care, see ya, Buck.” Eddie then turns away, and closes the door.
Buck is grateful for that because he’s not sure that the frozen dumbfounded look he’s sporting is his best look. A look that’s written on his face because what the fuck?

Summary
Buck scoffed, ripping his arm out of Eddie’s hold. “Seriously, Eddie? You’re really trying to sell me that ‘it’s not you it’s me’ crap?” When Eddie stayed silent for one moment too long, Buck turned around, more than ready to leave their shared bed and said, “Screw the couch. I’m going to stay with Maddie for a while.”
“I can’t stop thinking about Tommy,” Eddie blurted out and Buck was glad he was still sitting down because hearing that likely would have ended up with him falling right to the ground with the way he lost all feeling in his legs. And in general. All he could think through the sudden numbness taking over his body was-
“My ex boyfriend Tommy?”
And here he thought things couldn’t get any worse. Or more confusing.
Or, the one in which Eddie and Chris return home and there's only one bed

Summary
“Buck, why would you do that?”
But Eddie’s voice is not accusatory, and the defences Buck prepared crumble down. Why did he do it? He knows why, of course he knows.
“I-“, he sighs, “I was lonely, he was there, he wanted me, so…”
He was lonely because Eddie’s not here. Tommy was here when Eddie wasn't. Tommy wanted him like Eddie doesn’t. Eddie, Eddie, Eddie.
Well, turns out he is in love with his straight best friend.
What a fucking cliché. He needs to hang up, he needs to go-
“Actually Eddie sorry, it’s getting late I should-“
“I want you.”
It sounds like a release, not falling but jumping over the edge, certain and unequivocal.

It was pure anger and adrenaline the first time they slept together. Eddie was fuming because of the lawsuit, and Buck just wanted to be close to someone. He’d dreamt of being with Eddie, probably not quite like this, but he’d take anything he got.

Summary
It’s when Eddie begins singing that Buck’s lungs stop working, his heart beating all too fast inside him. Nothing else matters as Eddie’s voice gets louder, more confident. His honeyed singing is captivating. Like Eddie, it demands attention just by existing, melodious and even, finding the key like he’s not even searching for it. He’s skilled in his control, both clear and delicate with a hint of a raspy twang. It’s effortless, it’s beautiful, it’s piercing, and Buck can’t remember how to breathe or blink or move.
Or, Buck visits El Paso and Eddie lets him in on a secret.

“Yeah, you too.”

“And then he basically accused me of being in love with you, which was so ridiculous that I kicked him out,” Buck finally says, out of breath and flushed with terror. “Which was the right move, because that was crazy, right? Doesn’t that sound crazy?”
“What? Why?” Eddie asks over speakerphone, sounding not even a little horrified by the suggestion and in fact, more distracted than anything. “Wait, sorry, give me one second, I need to watch the recipe video.

Summary
Eddie Diaz grew up hearing about magic, but he’s never really believed in it.
Because who believes in magic, anyways? Weird people, people who look at their life and hope for miracles to fix things, when really they just have to work for it. Put their hands on it and make it.
At least, that’s what he’s been doing. For his whole life.
