And just when Magnus was about to tease dear Alexander, I don’t know if you’ve noticed but we already are, in fact, we’ve already had two weddings, Alec continues on, “Again and again. Everywhere, in every culture. I want everyone to know that I’m yours and you’re mine.”
Any quip dies on his tongue. Magnus doesn’t think he’s ever wanted anything more.

Summary
When Alec storms out of the apartment after their argument over breakfast about Magnus' box of mementos and his immortality, Magnus vanishes from his life, everyone's lives. No-one knows knows where has gone and his warlock friends cannot feel his magic. Alec is convinced that he is still alive, no matter what anyone else thinks and is positive he will return. Meanwhile, Magnus wakes up in a hospital far from home, not knowing who he is, where he is and completely unaware of his magical abilities.

“That’s different,” Alec insisted despite the blush that painted his cheeks a lovely red. “I can be quiet if I have to be.”
The temptation to tease Alec some more before inevitably giving in was still very much there, but Alec surprised him yet again with the insistent twitch of his arousal where it was pressed into Magnus’ hip. Huh. It seemed that his shy Shadowhunter had a bit of an exhibitionist streak hidden beyond the surface. And then people said that the two of them had nothing in common.
Needing to explore this new knowledge immediately, Magnus reached for the lock and let the sound of it clicking into place be his response. “Alright then. Lead the way, Alexander.”
OR, the one in which Magnus is more than happy to help Alec live out a fantasy of sneaking a boy into his bedroom in the Institute (with some unintended consequences)

ALTERED CANON
3x19 WHAT IFWhat if Asmodeus found him a few moments later and Magnus removed his memories of Alec? Asmodeus takes the pieces of memories, eager to use them to his advantage. One way or another he’s going to convince Magnus to return to Edom willingly.
Alec is horrified to learn that his desperate deal to make Magnus whole again had devastating consequences. The warlock who is his world doesn’t have the faintest idea who he is. Will Magnus fall in love with him again? Or go to Edom, coaxed by Asmodeus’ manipulation?
A potentially dangerous battle over Magnus’ heart and soul begins between Alec and Asmodeus.

Except now, when he’s on his back looking down his bare chest at the man who’s somehow chipped away at his protective armor, with his legs spread as he watches Magnus roll on a condom and situate himself right there. This is the most vulnerable Alec has ever felt.

Summary
Magnus doesn’t make the deal with Asmodeus because Lorenzo gets his oversized head out of his own ass at the very last minute. This sets off a ‘small’ chain reaction where Magnus doesn’t lose his magic, Clary doesn’t disappear, and Jonathan isn’t resurrected.
For the first time since Alec and Magnus met, there is no war. No Valentine, no Lilith, no Jonathan. Just the mess they all left behind.
Alec is busy cleaning up said mess, being dragged on more dates than he necessarily wants (could they maybe just cuddle up on the couch and talk every once in a while?), and worrying that he’ll mess up again and that this time it won’t just be swept under the rug.
