A fascinating premise, which is explored to the fullest. All of the relationships, even those with a tiny amount of screen time, are give a wonderful level of depth. The best thing about it by far is the devoloping Angelus/Cordelia relationship- it strikes just the perfect note between creepy and endearing.

Every night Buffy Summers goes to sleep and wakes up in a big bed, in a dark room, with a vampire in it that she cannot see, and who does not speak. Is she dreaming or is it real? Meanwhile, life as the Slayer goes on as Buffy juggles college life, friends, her boyfriend, vampires, demons, family -- and a new prophecy that could change everything.
Set in an alternate Season 5 with no Glory, and no Dawn. Deviates partially from canon just after the Season 4 finale. Deviates entirely from canon post-"Intervention." Epic length fic.

Features an absolutely staggering amount of politicking, as well as periodic descriptions of alien ecology. Definitely a ensemble fic. You liked Martok, I hope?
