But when Harry gets into the TARDIS he feels hotter than ever; he sighs, reaching the central console and slumping against it, wishing the metal could take some of the heat away; usually, it’s cold to the touch. This will pass. It must be a sort of sudden heatstroke, or something like that. Manageable.
“You do look quite hot,” the Doctor says, suddenly looming over him. He presses the back of his hand to Harry’s forehead and it’s all Harry can do not to whimper - the console might be doing nothing, but the Doctor is wonderfully cold. His hand leeches all the unpleasantness out, and he really could just stand here… forever. “Did you eat anything out there?”
“I’m not actually an idiot,” Harry says, his eyes shut.
