My interpretation of how the Captain died at Button house, wearing his army uniform, with no visible wounds.
Robin on his tour of Button house on the dvd extra features said " What else can I tell you about library? One time there was a guy in here who murdered another, can't tell you about this."
- In the title sequence a picture of Captain is shown in a cracked frame which could be a reference to the Agatha Christie novel "The Mirror Crack'd" - about someone being poisoned at an English country house.
- Below the picture is a draw that opens, moving objects in the title sequence seem to relate to how the Ghost died, in Captain's case I believe the draw holds whatever killed him.

Summary
Piltover and Zaun collapse in disgrace after the explosion caused by Jinx, causing Caitlyn and Vi to be stuck in the middle of grief and responsibilities. With a clock counting down the time they have left together before the two nations are separated forever, they decide to stop thinking and let go of everything they feel for each other.
But even though healing is merely a process, there is a demon on the loose that is not ready to let them go. With Jinx's reappearance, new dangers lurk, because the little madwoman left them a gift, one they can't get rid of, one they have to take care of, one they have to protect when she returns to take the gift with her.

Axton Pierce is an enforcer, his duty is to protect Piltover. Now, as the city he stands to protect is on the brink of war, he finds himself in a position he never could have imagined being in prior. Still, could be worse. He still has the newly appointed Sheriff (and one of his closest friends) Caitlyn, and her relentless partner from the Undercity, Vi. Throw in two geniuses, a steadfast politician, and a batshit insane fugitive...maybe they can pull this off after all...that, or they crash and burn spectacularly. Worth a shot regardless, right?

He realized that Eddie wasn’t sleeping at all. He was laying on his side with his back facing Richie, but he was visibly shaking while hugging himself as tightly as possible. He could have sworn he heard a sniffle or two.
Or: Richie can't sleep so he sneaks into Eddie's room only to find him completely distraught from something Sonia did to him.

After chaos ensues with her best friend Abe, Joan confides in the only person in her small circle of friends and acquaintances she feels is left, leaving her drenched in the cold rain on JFK’s doorstep.
The pair form an unlikely friendship and bond over loneliness and vulnerability. JFK tries to prove to Joan that she’s worthy of a person who’ll reciprocate her endearment and devotion and treat her right. Somewhere along the way he realizes he might think of her as more than just a friend, and hopes that he can be that person for her.
