Shuichi can tell that she’s just playing along now. And he fell right for her trap. But he couldn’t even begin to care. He needs to do this if he wants to help Ouma. The other boy might have been difficult to deal with, but Shuichi just can’t leave him to suffer, maybe even die.
“I’ll take the prize. And you can tell Tsumugi that I’ll be staying here with Kokichi Ouma from now on,” Shuichi retorts, hissing out Tsumugi’s name with disgust, already walking down the stairs.Ceasing his next step, Shuichi mutters, “Oh, and you can tell her that whatever it is she’s planning...”
He turns back around, staring daggers at the nurse, as if she is Tsumugi, “I won’t let her win.”
Shuichi awakens and finds the outside world waiting for him. Now, after saddling himself with caring and living with a physically disabled and rather troubled Kokichi Ouma, he's learning how to live in a world that treats him like an international celebrity, planning teary reunion parties, all while investigating Team Danganronpa's new secret plans.Oh, and he's dealing with the fact that he may be painfully in love with his impromptu roommate.

Home is where the heart is, they said.
Ouma didn’t really understand what that meant. Home, he supposed, was a place of safety, warmth and love. Home… was a place where one could be themselves, a place where lies—kind white lies and painfully black untruths—were simply unnecessary. Home was a place Ouma has never known, an alien concept, something he couldn’t quite understand. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized his detachment to the idea made a strange sort of sense.
After all, if home was where the heart was, then the fact that his chest was devoid and empty must have been to blame.
