This hadn’t been in the parenting books. Hermione would know—she’d read them all. At least, all of the good ones (good meaning “including peer-reviewed research” and “not just a television show host”). She’d found that even the scientific literature had grown increasingly…unhelpful as her children got older. And not once had she been warned about this.
(Or, no one tells you, when you become a parent, that seeing your child get all the things you needed at that age and being happy is also triggering)

Summary
Draco and Ginny cook together, twice a week. Is has become a surprising tradition that neither of them could have imagined a decade earlier. Well, it is not just cooking. That word doesn’t do it justice. For Draco cooking is technical, mechanical even. It is a scientific act borne of necessity. It is a symptom for his journey as a changed man. For Ginny cooking is to create passion, it is a dance, sometimes a temperamental one, like a tango. Sometimes it is something that just flows naturally, improvised by what the world throws at her.
But for both of them it is also foreplay. There is sauce being sucked from fingertips, kneading the dough with those long, slender fingers, grabbing the whisk with both hands while whipping cream, licking mousse from the corner of the mouth, pushing fingers into oranges only to break them apart and see the juices running down pale freckled skin.
It never leads anywhere, both dancing around old reservations, new worries and general insecurities. This night the stew of their repressed feelings and their bottled-up sexual tension reaches a boiling point.- Language:

Summary
Written for the 2024 Draco/Ginny Summer Fic Fest.
28 year old Ginny Weasley feels out of place. She’s divorced, a single mother to a headstrong 5 year old, and stuck in a dead-end, low-level job at the Daily Prophet after a too-short Quidditch career. Every day is a scramble- she’s barely keeping up. So when the Ministry of Magic demands that all purebloods enroll in mandatory Muggle studies classes to eliminate prejudices, can anyone really blame her for being a little pissed off?
Ginny cooking in a Muggle kitchen is out of place. Ginny cooking in a Muggle kitchen with Draco Malfoy as her class partner is very out of place. Can they put their past aside long enough to work together and bake the perfect chocolate soufflé, or is their partnership as fragile as their dessert?
