Summary
Kou has made an irreversible, foolish and downright idiotic mistake. A flush creeps up Kou’s neck as the finality of his mistake sinks in. It only deepens when a puff of air finally pushes past Hanako’s lips and he tilts his head at Kou with an amused smile.
“What did you just say?”
Kou makes the mistake of calling Hanako by a pet name. Like any good boyfriend, Hanako never lets him live it down.

Summary
The words barely register as Kou’s blood runs cold. The voice is less supernatural than he expected: devoid of the foreboding reverb, grim tones and hungary snare. Instead, it’s much more boyish and more…normal.
“Here, let me introduce myself.” A pale hand is offered in front of Kou’s face and they clear their throat as if preparing for a speech they’ve rehearsed a thousand times before. “The seventh of the seven mysteries of the school, Hanako-san of the bathroom.” Kou’s eyes trail from the apparition's arm to their face, jaw dropping as he catches the apparition smiling, “Nice to meet cha.”
In a quest to make his brother proud, Kou tries to exorcise the infamous Hanako-San of the bathroom. However, when his plans go awry, he seeks Hanako's help to achieve his goal, ending in some supernatural shenanigans involving mermaid scales.

Summary

“Oh, kid…” Hanako breathes, bringing Kou ever so closer.
“No, it’s not that. He’s…fine? With it I guess but I…he…” Kou trails, his voice gradually fading as he meets a blockage in his throat. Hanako squeezes his hand and in one deep breath, Kou finishes, “he found out about us.”
Kou confides in Hanako about an argument he had with Teru, leading to an uncomfortable conversation about their relationship.

I.e., we get the identity reveal / confrontation / conversation we all deserved, rather than that 3 minute nothing BS we were given. And then Gi-hun is allowed to have a little violence and murder of people who (mostly) deserve it. As a treat. In-ho watches and is a little too into it.
And then Jun-ho arrives.
The baby will live. Gi-hun will live - changed, but revitalized. The spark back in his eye. His heart beating again.
And In-ho? Well, he has some explaining to do to both of the people that hunted him down to this island.
