Summary
Hannibal’s room is dim, lit only by the soft glow of a lamp near his bed. He’s still awake, half-sitting against the headboard with a book open in one hand, the other resting loosely on his bare chest. When he looks up, he isn’t surprised to find Will standing there; he merely lifts an eyebrow curiously at him.
“Couldn’t sleep?” he asks, unmoving.
Will shifts awkwardly in the doorway, fingers curling around the frame. “Something like that. You don’t lock your door?”
Hannibal shrugs. “There’s no one here I’d wish to keep out.”
“Maybe there should be,” Will says before he can stop himself.
Hannibal smiles, intrigued by this. “Should there?”
Will chews on his lower lip. The silence stretches on around them, filled only by the quiet ticking of the clock on the mantle.
Eventually, Hannibal looks to the empty space beside him and pulls back the covers. Will smiles shyly, crossing the room and crawling into bed as Hannibal sets his book aside and turns to face him.
“The first night here can be disorienting,” he says, reaching to brush a thumb along Will’s cheek. “Too many unfamiliar ghosts.”

Summary
This letter feels different from the others, less a message, more a touch. He wonders when Hannibal first set pen to paper, what hour of the night, what thought carried him from one phrase to the next. He can almost see it in his mind: Hannibal’s hand holding the pen as it drags effortlessly across the page.
He thinks about their phone call again — ‘it matters to me’ — and shivers. The hook Hannibal lodged in his heart years before tugs again as it buries itself deeper in his chest. The temptation to see him grows and swells until it slowly becomes need. Will wants to look into his eyes again, he wants to see the shape of his mouth as it dissects him from across a room. He wants to experience it one last time, then perhaps he can close the door on all of this forever.
The slam of the cabin door jolts him out of it. He shoves the letter into his pocket, blinking back into the present. Outside, Molly is already heading for her car.
“We’re out of milk,” she calls, deliberately not looking at him as he approaches.

Summary
“Are you saying that’s me?” Will asks quietly. “That I flew too close?”
Hannibal wets his lips, then steps closer, and the quiet precision of it leaves Will breathless. He lifts a hand to Will’s shoulder, then another to his face, cradling him with such care that Will finds himself caught with nowhere to look but into Hannibal’s eyes, and nothing to hear but his voice. For a moment, the whole world narrows to the warmth of his hands and the weight of his gaze.
“I’m saying you climbed higher than most men dare, Will,” he says. “You looked into the minds of monsters. You walked their halls, saw their dreams, their appetites.”
Will closes his eyes, the feeling of hopelessness starting to wash over him again.
“And now you’re falling. And no one knows how to catch you.” There’s a pause, long enough and quiet enough for Will to hear his blood rushing in his ears. He feels desperately hot in Hannibal’s hands, but it feels so good to be held that he daren’t pull away. “Except perhaps me.”

OR: A string of child murders bring Will and Hannibal on the road together. Between long drives, cheap motels, and unspeakable violence, something raw and undefineable begins to take shape between them.

“I guess I just didn’t realise you were such a big Coldplay fan.”
There it is. He’s overplayed his hand. Tom turns away, waving his hand dismissively.
“Don’t be absurd, it’s just— It’s—“ He’s physically groping in the air now for the words. “It’s culturally significant, Greg. You don’t like it, you just… You recognise it. Like the local news jingle, or that smell you get in hotel lobbies that’s definitely carcinogenic but kind of reassuring, or— Just shut up.”
“I didn’t say anything!” Greg protests, but he’s still smiling that same self-satisfied grin.
“You looked at me,” Tom says hopelessly. “You gave me that look, that ‘oh wow, Tom’s having emotions’ look. I don’t have emotions, ok? I have investments. And I came here for brand synergy, not for… Melodic catharsis.”

Abigail looks at them both, and something in her stomach flutters — not quite fear, not quite want. Something nameless. She feels like an echo between them, a satellite orbiting two bodies with their own gravitational pulls. She can feel the way they move around each other, drawn closer not despite the danger, but because of it. They’re like a myth she’s only just beginning to understand.

Summary
Four years after his escape, Hannibal Lecter is once again imprisoned at the hospital in Baltimore. He's the same as ever, except that he refuses to discuss Will Graham, who there hasn't been a trace of in years. When the Buffalo Bill killings start, FBI trainee Clarice Starling is sent to interview him, and Hannibal has his interest piqued. But it’s not for reasons anyone would suspect, and as usual, his motivations are all about Will. A remix of Silence of the Lambs, where Clarice finds herself occupied not only with catching Buffalo Bill, but with unraveling the mystery of what exactly happened to Will Graham. And Hannibal knows more than he’s letting on about both.
