Summary
Sokka wraps himself around him like an octopus, pressing a kiss to the back of his neck. Zuko makes a soft sound, craning his head around so he can kiss him properly. It’s an awkward angle, but that hardly matters.
“You know,” he says, his hand settling on the dip of his waist. “We don’t have to join the Avatar if you don’t want to. We can just… become refugees.”
But Zuko shakes his head, sighing wearily. “I think you’re underestimating my father’s influence. Besides, I’m tired of living in fear. If I don’t take a stand now, I think I’ll be looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life.”
And Sokka gets it, he really does, but there’s a feeling of quiet dread in the pit of his stomach that he can’t quite shake.
After the events of Flirting with the Enemy, Sokka and Zuko search for Aang and Katara. Along the way, they meet old friends and new. As they race against the clock to outsmart the Fire Lord, they may find that the biggest challenges come from unexpected places…

Summary
Once the smoke dissipated after the tragedy at Hale Manor, the survivors of the once-thriving pack were scattered like ash in the wind. For some, the next two years passed like a suffocating gust of wind, pinning them to the burning embers they could never quite heal from.
