Kento positively hated this damn school.
He was raised by parents who were normal salary people. Living from month to month. Struggling to make ends meet. Never splurging on anything fancy. Never indulging him in his most basic useless craving as a child. He grew up knowing that he had to work hard to afford a better life.
When he had been told he was “gifted” with being able to see these… curses, he, for the first time started thinking that he was special. His parents didn’t have these powers and never got the chance to go to a private school. Surely great things awaited him.
But that was all bullshit.

The hike up the mountain was proving to be more than difficult than anticipated. Even Suguru’s rather impressive physical condition was put to the test, as the trail to the top was more like a mudslide than anything else. In addition, whenever he grasped something to pull his body upwards, it was either prickly or poisoned. If he stopped for too long to catch his breath or regain his footing, he ended up pondering just how the hell or even why the fuck would normal people even find themselves hiking this mountain.
