The boy inhaled sharply next to him, and drew his knees closer to his chest. His face went back to the worried lines from the moment Bruce met him.
“What would you do? If you could fly?” The boy asked silently.
“I don’t know.” Bruce's eyes fell to his watch. It was time to head back. “Save the world, I guess.”

Oscar spent so long in the hospital the days started to merge together. Until one day he heard the call of a northern cardinal, and he knew winter was behind him. The chirping melted something cold inside him. And as if with brand new eyes, Oscar watched the sun shine between clouds like he'd never seen it before.
Not long after, he was discharged.

When you touched my hand. Back at Addison. It felt… strange. In a way it never felt before. It was… good.
“Oh, yes?” Arthur’s interest was picked. “How so?”
It felt like the morning sun after a cold night. Of flames against your frigid cheeks. I felt… cared for. Important. But it also made me crave more. More of the attention, maybe. Or… the feeling of your skin against mine. It gave me chills, Arthur.
Arthur held himself back from shivering at that last statement. Maybe it was the topic’s fault, or the fact that his erection didn’t waver, but John’s voice sounded alluring.
He felt as if a layer of tension grew between them, in the silence that followed John. Arthur’s skin felt tight, his heartbeat grew. He wanted to ask, he wanted to ask so badly, the words were almost leaving his lips.
But could he?
