Summary
The barrier is finally broken, and at last all of monsterkind are free to walk on the surface.
Again.
Sans the Skeleton is skeptical. Why bother getting excited for something that's just going to reset? This is not the first time the barrier is broken, and probably not the last. He feels the need to take a break for everyone else's enthusiasm and wanders to the ruins where he encounters a ghost of his past. The result of that meeting is something he has been hiding for a long time and that he's determined to keep hidden. -

Part of the prologue to Branches On A Tree.
All Sans knows is that he's not supposed to talk to anyone about the lab, or the DT.
If anyone asks, he's supposed to tell them that he needs 'medicine', because he's sick, but that's not the truth. Though he never got to know the reason to why he needs to get DT injected into his soul regularly, hes know that with certainty he isn't sick. At least not any more than the DT causes him to be.
While snooping around in the lab, he finds someone who seems to go through the same thing as he does. A new friend who he can talk to about it and share experiences with.
But who is this monster really, and why is she locked up in the lab?

Summary
Sans wakes up in the lab and discovers that Gaster's paranoia has gone just a tiny bit too far. The doctor is determined to make him and Papyrus more powerful, so that they will be able to fight humans when monsters will reach the Surface. However, Gaster doesn't seem to be able to understand that forcing someone to be what they are not isn't good to keep friendships healthy, and that, maybe, Sans and Papyrus are not so eager to become his two warriors. Everyone has their limits, and even Sans' patience has one.
