“What’s the fun in a masquerade if you don’t flirt outrageously with the prettiest person in the room?” the young man says flippantly, and then winks at Keith. Keith huffs a laugh, amused.
“You keep saying things like that, but you haven’t seen my face,” he says, gesturing to his mask. “I could have warts under here. I could have spots, or scars.”
“You’d be lovely even with all of those,” the young man says, and he suddenly sounds serious. It takes Keith by surprise, makes his heart twist along with his stomach. “Your eyes,” he continues, tilting his head. “I’ve never seen eyes like yours before.”

“I got caught up with something,” Thace hums, taking a right turn when Lance quietly tells him to do so.
“Doing what? Something cool?”
“If you count saving a teenager from being stuck on a monkey bar in the east neighborhood's playground as cool, then yes.”
“Lame,” his son declares and Thace ignores Lance’s offended yelp. “Is he cute, at least?”
Thace arches an eyebrow at the question before he shrugs. “Hey, kiddo, are you cute?” he asks over his shoulder, humming when hears Lance moving to lean forward from his seat.
“I would like to believe so, sir.”
[Or the one where Keith's the son of a police offer and asks by pure chance if the boy his dad 'arrested' that night is cute enough for his gay ass. Spoiler alert: he is.]

Summary
Lance held his breath. He knew, at this rate, they’d have two options: fight with what they had (which was Keith’s knife and team spirit) and hope they can skirt by with the help of the locals, or submit and become prisoners to the Galra. Neither situation was ideal. Lance looked to Keith, at his eyes and his eye lashes, the curve of his nose and the pink in his lips. He knew it was bad timing, but he really wanted to kiss Keith before whatever happened, happened.
But when Keith turned his body to face him and said, “Kiss me.” With the same amount of emotion one would say, “Hand me that stapler,” it threw Lance completely off guard.

“Keith…?” Lance’s voice is muffled as he speaks into Keith’s chest, and Keith feels the vibration of it against his ribcage like a shock. It jolts him awake, and all at once, he realizes what he’s doing. What he’s done.His first instinct is to pull away, he knows that he should pull away… but he doesn’t. Instead, he hesitates, obliging the small part of himself that doesn’t want to let go, whether he likes it or not. It has him lingering in the moment for just a second too long.
He hadn’t meant for this to happen.

Keith ran a hand over his face again as he stared at the picture of Lance on his phone. He was failing to comprehend how the removal of a few pieces of metal had turned his best friend into - what was this? Lance suddenly no longer looked like the nerd that had once ranted to him for three hours straight about the entire science behind Deathclaws in Fallout 4.
Now Lance was someone with a giant glowing grin, laugh lines that tugged up into the slightest of dimples Keith was pretty sure only he had ever noticed, with his bright blue eyes seeming so much more intense in the moment of glee after having his “mouth contraption of death” being removed.
In other words: Lance was hot.
