Summary
Once I was talking to EmperorAlpaca about the parallels between Artaserse (the opera by Pietro Metastasio) and the Mingguang story. They said that Rong Guang would find Pei Ming committing regicide for him extremely hot.
The vignette here is based on this idea. Rong Guang is a prince, his father has just been murdered, and the suspect is someone well-known to him.
"Mi lusinga il dolce affetto col aspetto del mio bene" is a quote from Handel's opera Alcina: "Sweet love beguiles me with my darling's likeness".

Fulvio wants Emilia. However, sex with someone as haunted as Emilia by definition includes her three ghost spouses. And ghost visitations under the conditions of civil war can be, well, intense.
The fic takes place during Nascesti alle pene (Fulvio's aria in Act 2). It is inspired by Versailles 2015 production of Vinci's Catone in Utica (with Vince Yi as Emilia, Martin Mitterrutzner as Fulvio). Emilia's anachronistic lace gloves come from her iconic outfit in that production.
On a related note, Vivaldi's version of Catone has Fulvio hallucinate the shadow of Pompey in Degl'Elisi dal soggiorno (the aria that replaces Nascesti alle pene).[A note on the ghosts. The character of Emilia in the opera is based on Cornelia Metella, the widow of Publius Crassus and then of Pompey; the latter, according to Lucan's Pharsalia, was unable to divorce the ghost of his previous wife Julia Caesaris (Pharsalia 3.30ff.)]

What is this? This is the libretto of a 18th century Italian opera telling the story of Pei Ming and Rong Guang.
The text is bilingual: the Italian original with parallel English translation. That said, I am just learning Italian, please do not judge me strictly. When my language improves enough, I will go over the Italian text again.
For the arias, I suggest taking a glance at the Italian text even if you do not read it, just to see the rhythm and rhyme. For recitative, the language is less important.I am grateful to the most insightful and inspiring beta, lifeisyetfair.

This fic is based on the idea of EmperorAlpaca. Backstory: so there is this canon divergence AU I have been talking about with EmperorAlpaca and other Mingguang enjoyers on Discord. In which Pei Ming caught the special attention of the Heavenly Emperor before Xie Lian did, and it did not go better for him than it later went for Xie Lian. Pei Ming fell from Heaven twice, was the god of revenge for a few years in between, suffered a lot, brought much suffering to others, and became convinced that he does not deserve good things. Rong Guang, in the meantime, became a Calamity known as Gray Shadow Chasing Sun and was preparing his revenge on Pei Ming, but never brought himself to do it; instead, they reunited. Pei Ming ascended the third time, this time as the god of love, and snuck Rong Guang into Heavenly Capital with him, disguised as his deputy (as one does).
...Back to the topic of pornography. Rong Guang as Calamity controls shadows and can use them to attack enemies (and hug Pei Ming). Pei Ming thinks of a new use for those shadows and provokes Rong Guang to try it. And Rong Guang simply wants Pei Ming to understand how he sees him.
