In the heart of the lab, a dance of intellect and precision unfolded as Jayce meticulously tightened the bolts on their latest contraption. The room buzzed with the muted pattern of machinery and the occasional flicker of an LED light piercing the shadows. Nevertheless, Jayce's eyes remained transfixed on Viktor's hands, which moved with the grace of a maestro conducting an invisible orchestra. Each finger, a master craftsman in its own right, danced around the intricate wires and gleaming metal components with a confidence that could only come from countless hours of tireless dedication to their craft.

Summary
Viktor’s plan to get himself banned from those ridiculously pompous galas went as follows:
-Wear the most revealing, most scandalous outfit he could.
-Wear the most makeup he could apply to himself without messing up.
-Be as rude and sarcastic as he could possibly be to everyone.
This plan was sure to get him banned from galas forever, Viktor was convinced of it. And sure, maybe he also felt at least a tiny bit bad for making Jayce clean up his mess afterwards, but he had insisted Viktor go to this gala, so if anything, he was partly to blame for this. He should have known Viktor would only agree to go under his own conditions.
Or: How Viktor's foolproof plan to stop getting invited to fancy parties totally backfires on him and turns him into Piltover's most elegible bachelor. And how he ends up dragging Jayce into it.

Since returning to Númenor, both Elendil and Tar-Miriel had become the target of Ar-Pharazôn’s true ambitions. By using the late King’s death as an excuse to dethrone the Queen Regent, as well as the enormous losses incurred in the Battle of the Southlands, Ar-Pharazôn hoped to prove that Tar-Miriel was unworthy of holding power in Númenor. But in a moment of fierce resolve, she managed to challenge such a notion in court, proclaiming that if she could not turn such transgressions into gold then she would willingly relinquish her title and abdicate the throne.
Believing that she would fail and humiliate herself beyond repair, Ar-Pharazôn agreed to her demands but allowed her only one month to prove his claims to be false. And so, since then Elendil and the Queen have convened at sunrise every morning, hours before court was held, in order to get ahead of matters concerning the public, the economy and military endeavours. But outsmarting such a devious politician was a task unlike anything Tar-Miriel had faced before, one in which she was severely unequipped.

When the Canton store first opened, he had gone with some friends to buy a bookcase and lost half a day wandering amongst the displays. He vowed never to go back.

Bilbo could scarcely believe it when he turned the corner of a deep hall in Mirkwood and heard Thorin's voice in the darkness. At first he had been so exceptionally glad to have found the dwarf that he all but ripped the magic ring from his finger and exposed himself to the elven guards. But something about Thorin's voice stayed his hand. The words coming from behind the prison door were so wrought with emotion that Bilbo wondered if Thorin himself even knew what he was speaking.
No, not speaking. Praying. Thorin Oakenshield was praying.

Summary
Modern AU. Mando comes across the Child after being sent by his gang to collect a mysterious asset. What had started as a simple enough job turns into a race against the clock when he realizes he's not the only one interested in the kid. Enemies become friends, and friends become enemies. Saving a kid has never felt so alien and so simple at the same time for Mando, who will do everything in his power to make sure history doesn't repeat itself. Even if it means sacrificing himself in the process.
