Summary
Once upon a time there was a great family imbued with magic given from the stars throughout every generation their power grew making birth more dangerous for everyone involved. This had led to most women of the family bel never even trying to conceive due to the dangers of childbirth. The queen of the house is determined to keep the family's magic alive; the only way to save the mother and child is to take the child's magic away as soon as it leaves the womb. Most people are not as lucky in the kingdoms of great wealth such as the kingdom of bel. The people in the war ridden edges of this world filled with gangs and terrible people. If you have had the misfortune of being born there you have to fight to live from the moment you can throw a punch.

Summary
Steve bristles under a social system that keeps submissives at the bottom of the social hierarchy.
