Summary
Being a part of Captain Price's Special Task Force 141 was no easy work. Often away from loved ones for extended amounts of times, dropped in the middle of nowhere, with intelligence that could crumble life and society as we know it today or could launch another world war with only your closest battle buddies being there to support you; sometimes it was someone you had only known for six months being on your six and trusting they were going to get you out alive. Being killed or captured was always a threat and work was never easy. Missions often went sideways, and you sometimes only had the supplies in your bag with the clothes on your back. Blood often stained the hands of the members of the 141, they flirted with the grim reaper often, and any distractions could risk your life on the field.

Summary
Soap notices that Ghost always smells of lavender, and seems to have an aversion to certain deodorant smells, and he sets out to figure out why. Along the way he changes his own deodorant and finds out that that gesture means a whole lot more to Simon than he could ever have thought it would. He learns more about his Lieutenant in the next few months than he has in the last nearly five years of working with him, finding out why such a small gesture meant so much to him and getting to know every part of Simon, the good, the scared, and the ugly.

He turned off his radio, silencing whatever rage Price had in store for him. If this got him kicked from the team, fine. If it got him dishonorably discharged, fine. He’s not leaving Ghost behind. Fuck that. Fuck. That. Even with their fight, with the rejection, with the pain - none of it fucking mattered. Not if Ghost was gone. Taken to be tortured, or trafficked, or whatever the fuck.
Despite the base rumors, and the way his fellow soldier’s constantly labeled him as accident prone, Soap was a demolitions expert. He didn’t get drafted to the 141 because of his good looks. He’s a damn good soldier, even better when he has motivation.
They took his Ghost.
Soap was going in alone. And he’d kill anyone in his way so he’d be leaving with Simon.

“Ghost, I don’t want to be dead,” he whispered, and Ghost saw that he was crying.
“You’re not dead, Johnny,” he murmured, gently running a hand through the sergeant’s mohawk. “You’ll be fine, I’m getting you out of here, I promise.”
Soap weakly tried to reach for Ghost, as if he needed to make sure that his lieutenant was really there. Ghost obliged him, gently grabbing his wrist.
“I’m here, Johnny, I’ve got you.” He could tell that something was very wrong with Soap’s hands, considering the thick bandages soaked with old blood, but his injuries would have to wait. Exfil was priority. He huffed a sigh, then he radioed in, informing Price that he’d found Soap, alive.Soap is taken by mercenaries and held captive in a black site prison on hostile territory, but his friends will stop at nothing to get him out.
It will be a long way to recovery for Soap, but Ghost is going to be there for him all the way, even if that might cost him his job, or worse.- Language:
