The King invited the Party to dinner. Even though he doesn’t eat.
It was a little presumptuous of them to assume he was going to abstain from eating for the entirety of the night.
It’s not as if he did it right in front of them, in front of their own meal. He respected any potential weak stomachs. He picked his moment. They were busy. The meat course was an ample distraction.
And Solaria is a vegetarian. She would be sitting there bored with an empty plate before her, just as he would be. There is much more beneficial things they could be doing with their time.
