“Sensei of Schale, in the name of Oull, answer; can all students truly be forgiven?”
The phrasing of this question was unnerving to Sensei. It came from a message sent directly to the Shittim Chest. His answer was natural and automatic, faith in his students unwavering and eternal:
“Yes.”
His reply garnered no direct response. Little did he know what was already in motion.
Beyond the stars known to Kivotos, the planet home to the Academy City had acquired the attention of a very concerning individual: Albrecht Entrati.
In his eternal one-man campaign against a god-like entity of his own making, the Indifference, he had discovered It had taken a very keen interest in a place across the universe, ceasing all of Its activity in the Origin System since. Something there was pacifying It wholly, and that simple notion disrupted everything.
With the Paradox now unavailable, he still had one other asset he could make use of. Though tainted with Its influence, the Tenno child would become essential in Entrati’s ambitions going forward.
That distant place seems to be a place of endless compassion. Could the Indifference truly be pacified? The Other will find out for them both.

Summary
The Indifference; the greatest mistake of Albrecht Entrati. Something he has devoted his entire life to defeating, no matter the cost. He had enlisted the help of the Drifter; the older, ill-fated counterpart of the very child who made that fateful deal aboard the Zariman Ten-Zero.
But even It wasn't unworthy of love. The Drifter and his counterpart made sure of that through a few crucial moments in history; a gesture not easily forgotten.
When the Drifter returns from Pluto, frustrated by repeated failures to obtain his desired bounty, It decides to act; It manifests itself on his ship and makes him a deal. A deal so good, he couldn't deny the hope it gave him. For It promised freedom from his disillusioned frustrations with the Origin System.
And so, he took it. He decided to leave it all behind and commit himself to safeguarding a new world on the other side of the universe; a planet full of academies, united under one banner. The second Deal was made.
...He thought he was the only one sent there. How soon that expectation would be dashed.
