Summary
Legends talk about sirens being the ones behind what became of this treacherous city, perhaps in the shape of a curse, insulted by humans and hunted for sport and pleasure. Legends talk about war, humans decimating populations until sirens became a rare breed, now almost akin to myth. Known well to cause disasters to whoever might fall near their territories or sight, lured by beautiful songs, views, and memories, swallowing the daring into the deepest parts of the sea, never to be seen again, exactly in the same way, this village is now a bare footprint on the maps. A sad point where only hard waters and storms await, where fish and treasure are now scarce.
Just like kindness is.
And kindness… kindness is not something Suguru has experienced much in his thirteen years of life.

His arm wraps around his neck and he feels mellow at the touch. Almost dazed at the thought of feeling that tug at his neck. It wouldn’t be a problem if Suguru could look at Satoru in the face, normally, as always.

That’s exactly how Satoru finds her when he bursts through the door. It swings hard enough to smack against the wall. Shoko jolts, rising half out of her chair before she realizes who it is.
“What the fuck, Satoru?!”
“I’m pregnant," he says, placing a hand over his stomach. Shoko stares at him. Then laughs. Hard enough to bend at the waist, a hand coming up to wipe her hair out of her face.
“Shoko.” Satoru’s voice breaks, crumbling on the last letter of her name. It shuts her up, makes the laughter die as she looks at him.
“You aren’t kidding?”
Satoru shakes his head, clutching at the fabric of his loose sleep shirt. Shoko approaches him slowly, eyes trained on his hand like she’s trying to see the proof.
“How do you know?”
Breath stuttering, Satoru smiles, “I saw it.”
Or, Satoru Gojo is pregnant, and he's about to make it everyone's problem.

Summary
Satoru comes home in a rush, begging Suguru to pretend to be his boyfriend at the party they're going to that night. Satoru's ex will be there; she is some girl from another elite family who thought she and Satoru were meant to be. And, while Suguru knows this will only further the torture of hiding his true feelings for Satoru, he agrees. He can never say no to him, but he can't risk losing him.
What he doesn't know is that pretending to be his best friend's boyfriend includes a lot more than he originally assumed. As the night goes on, the line between what's fake and what's real blurs. But Satoru doesn't like Suguru. He can't, Suguru believes. And, by the next morning, Suguru's stuck with the reality that he might have ruined their perfect friendship.

The woman grew suspicious, for good measure more than anything. "What business do you have with him?" She asked, narrowing her eyes.
