This was a deleted scene I didn’t use in my Steddie Big Bang – “Don’t Go Where I Can’t Follow” because I ended up going in a different direction. But it’s sort of cool as a standalone and so I'm sharing.

Pete chews on the end of his pen. He chances a look up at Patrick. Surprise surprise, the other Fall Out Boy totally absorbed in whatever he’s doing on his laptop, headphones securely on, gaze sharp and focused. Pete sighs. He looks back down at the notebook he’s got lying on the floor in front of him. He looks a little further out to the other notebooks scattered haphazardly around his person, papers and scraps and writing implements creating a wall that says artist at work! do not disturb!
Pete doesn’t feel like much of an artist right now. He can’t bring himself to put pen to paper. He can’t get any words out. Normally they spill out of him, like a well or a brook or some other kind of flowery metaphor, but Pete can’t think about metaphors right now. He can’t think, and the culprit is sitting innocently in front of him, clueless, chewing on his lower lip.
