Summary
Lord Voldemort survives October 31, 1981.
Harry Potter goes into hiding, smuggled out of the country by his godfather, Sirius Black.
Twenty-five years later, Britain is flourishing under the Dark Lord’s reign. But Harry Potter is still alive, out there somewhere, and so Lord Voldemort sends his trusty locket Horcrux on an overseas mission to remove the last remaining threat to their immortality.
Tom finds Harry living in Texas under the assumed name Harry Evans, playing professional Quodpot. He hasn’t grown up under the threat of a war, has had no combat training or formal dueling instruction.
It should be simple enough to kill him, right?

Tav studies the letters. She spots her mistake. "Nightsucker."
Astarion nods.
She looks very pleased with herself, beaming at him. "Got it! What's the problem, again?"
The vampire closes his eyes and holds his hands in prayer position in front of his lips as if he's steeling himself. He opens his scarlet eyes and moves his hands away. "Shall I read you a page or two to start? Maybe then you'll understand."

"I am excellently drunk, Geralt, I've done a very good job of it. I am as drunk as a Skelligen skunk."
"There are no skunks on Skellige."
"I am as drunk as a Skelligen monk, then."
Which is fairly drunk, all things considered; Skelligens don't fuck around about that sort of thing.
Geralt has been foolish about many things in his long life, and every time to his detriment; he'll not make the mistake of deluding himself that someone like Jaskier, with all the world open to him and everything to offer in return, would ever really choose Geralt's company in that way.
(Geralt may not be a reliable narrator of his own life.)

"I -- am going to let that go, because you're right, where are my manners." He ducks in front of Geralt as they step onto solid ground, forcing him to halt, and gives him a bow, no less graceful for being quickly executed. "Jaskier, troubadour, poet -- and barker -- at your service."

Summary
If you could choose a world to be isekaied into, you probably wouldn't choose the videogame Age of Tales.
It's a painfully generic medieval RPG with a very generic "farm boy becomes a hero" storyline. Or farmgirl, if you go that route. There's some moral choices, but overall the story is very linear from start to finish, and no matter how evil you try to play it, the game inevitably ends with the chosen farmboy (or girl) saving the world. Age of Tales has a very generic cast of characters with very generic backstories, even more generic villains with very basic evil plots, and side quests right out of early free to play mmorpgs. Overall the game is just very… mid.
Upon release the game was a massive flop.
And Katie has happily sunk nearly six hundred hours into it.
