Summary
Virgil (now) Sanders was once a
villainvigilantekid down on his luck. After being injured helping the superhero Bluebird, he ended up being adopted by him and his husband. Logan and Patton Sanders helped Virgil in ways he didn’t even know he needed. Since then, he’s put away his persona of Shadow Caster, the strange, hard to label, super who haunted the city for a few years. Instead he’s opted for being a normal teenager and university student.But while Logan and Patton often forgot in the midst of ice cream and movie nights and arguments about silly little things who he had been, he never had. And when worst comes to worst, Virgil will be willing to reach for a mask once again despite his fathers’ wishes and expectations.
Sometimes even the best laid plans fail.
This is the sequel to Sometimes Labels Fail and set 3 years after it. I highly recommend reading Sometimes Labels Fail before this one. Other stories in this universe are optional, but greatly improve the reading experience.

Virgil took a sip of his coffee, watching idly as the Duke dodged Prince's fist and fired back a a punch of his own, straight into the Prince's face. The panes of the shop windows rattled. “I hate them,” he mumbled to the cup. “This is the worst morning.”
“You’re supposed to make ramen yourself!” an explosion boomed. “There's more to it than boiled water!”
"They could just. Leave me alone."
"You are the worst!"

Hours: one AM to two PM(Somewhere on the Border between two warring superpowered factions, there's a tiny cafe run by a sole resigned barista who's getting really sick of the continued tomfoolery.)

Virgil forces Remus and Roman to get along because a war is bad for business and he’s done giving them first aid in the middle of the night because they keep beating each other up instead of talking. Summary
Logan has a complicated life. He has his research, his teaching, and his relationship to maintain with Patton and later their son Virgil. All of this is only even more complicated by his other frequent activity: being the superhero Bluebird. Logan deals with most of his issues the way he has since he was a child. He sorts, labels, and files them either in his mind or in his extensive physical filing system. Yet, despite his logical filing system, sometimes it fails. Sometimes he is forced to reevaluate and relabel some of his files. Other times, he simply watches as they shift around on their own. He learns throughout his life that sometimes things that don't seem to have a place, are the things that belong most with him.
