Summary
After escaping Avernus and on their various travels together after saving Baulder's Gate, Tav and Karlach receive word from Aylin and Isobel of Sharrans rallying monsters in the area of Hundelstone at the Spine of the World to harass and convert. The four set out on a journey to find the heart of the cult and put a stop to what seems to be a greater plan to conquer and inhabit Icewind Dale and raise an army of frozen warriors to march South. The impact of Aylin's torment for a hundred years in the Shadowfell makes this quest difficult, but she is assisted by great allies - and this is a story of the four adventuring together (with some spicy interludes along the way - never as a foursome, but both couples independently enjoying themselves when they can).

Summary
Tav and Isobel discuss Aylin - Tav wants to know more about her from a "mortal" perspective, intrigued with her alien quality. Isobel points out their similarities - how brash and uncensored they both are, how they don't make eye contact, how they stim. Tav is immediately humbled and embarrassed at how well Isobel reads her, but Isobel reassures her she didn't mean to hurt. It's the meeting of someone who’s had to mask somewhat (monastic training - comfortable for her and helps her fit in society) but not wholly vs someone who never has. Tav wonders a little at the difference between demonic (tief) and celestial (aasimar) appearances in their society. Isobel reassures her of their love for their partners, their strength and their kindness and sense of justice.
That night, Tav while cuddling with Karlach, looks for some comfort and reassurance, and Karlach in a roundabout way reassures her through her own quirks that they fit like a hand in a glove.

Karlach and Tav’s conversation following Karlach’s scream at the sky, after Gortash’s death. They talk about their truncated future and savor some quiet affection. Includes in-game dialogue and an a further expanded scene. Shadowheart offers some platonic comfort to her friends as well, given the context of her own recent salvation of her parents and destruction of her enclave.

Summary
Tav takes Karlach on a "second date" after Avernus – to an old place near the docks. This is not long after they return to Baulder’s Gate for the first time following their escape from Avernus. Karlach is very excited until she realizes long ago Gortash had a meeting there, with her doing her job by his side, the night he betrayed her. Despite the PTSD she goes through with it and is rewarded with a lovely evening. Cuddling Tav later that night she reflects on overcoming difficult memory with Tav at her side.

More than a decade before the events of BG3, just a few weeks before Gortash sells her away to Zariel, Karlach’s most recent relationship (and the last she has before she’s in hell) fizzles out. Fitz, her long-time friend and housemate, comforts her (platonically) as Karlach is starting to figure out she doesn’t just want someone who will keep the bed warm for her, but is still young enough to be kindof stupid about it. As per cannon, Fitz and Karlach have been friends for years, and share a place together. Similarly, Karlach’s parents passed a few years ago now, and she’s been working for Gortash all the while. Kalrach is in her early 20s.
