It's quite hard to follow through with his goal. Partially because killing a god is a lot harder than Cloud expected, and partially because it turns out maybe Sephiroth wasn't so keen on hurting people as Cloud had assumed.Series

Summary
“It’s kind of funny,” Akira starts, lazily twirling the stem of his cocktail glass in his hand. The jazz club they sit inside of is pleasantly warm compared to the winter chill outside, and Akechi can't tell if the flush on Akira's cheeks is because of that or his drink.
“What’s funny?” Akechi asks, tearing his eyes away from Akira's blush. His question almost manages to come out sounding normal.
Akira grins chesire-cat wide. "The fact we're both dead."
(Akechi Goro is not the only one who remembers dying. He's not the only one Maruki brought back. He is not the only one who, when all is said and done and Maruki's Palace is destroyed, will disappear once again. Neither of them cope well.)
