In one universe, the Gods were blessed with children and never had to go without, using them as cannon fodder or simply taking their very presence for granted.
In the other, the gods don't have such a blessing. Instead, having been cursed by Kronos for all their children to die before they can get to know them, before they can breathe- only a few surviving long enough to ascend to godhood. These Gods don't take their few surviving children for granted or send them on dangerous, life threatening quests. Surely they won't mind a few more?

Summary
Sebastian loved reading Fanfiction about his favorite book series, Harry Potter. On his way to work one day he gets hit by a truck and is sent flying into the world of Harry Potter.
