Summary
So the episode Nihilism inspired me so much! But it also made me want to really really rewrite it! Obvious spoilers for Season 14, Episode 10. I wrote this right when the episode came out, but it took time to edit it, and time isn’t something I ever have enough of.
When Cas and Sam went into Dean’s mind, I personally felt that Dean living out a life of a failing bar with Pamela was out of character. Pamela has been dead for too long to still be on his mind that way. Plus he wouldn’t imagine himself so alone that way. His happiness couldn’t be too obvious, or it wouldn’t be realistic, but the bar was the only part of it all that made sense. Also, why wasn’t he hunting with Sam and Cas???? Anyway, this is my take on what Dean’s dream really is. Major Destiel coming up, so if you don’t ship it, don’t blame me.

Summary
Immediately post Season 11, minus the BMoL storyline.
There are two simultaneous themes in this story:
1.) The threat of The Darkness is over. The Winchester's are back home in the bunker.
Mary is coming to terms with the loss of both her husband and the last 33 yrs of her little boys' lives.
Dean and Sam are dealing with...well, we all know what they've been through. 'Dealing' is probably a strong word.
Castiel is quietly struggling. He won't talk about it. Surprise.
2.) When an unknown and insurmountable force threatens to fling Cas to the furthest reaches of space and time, an ancient spell to tether his grace to a human soul is the only way to save him. The tether will require close proximity and, eventually, constant physical contact.
