Ango has seen Dazai fall apart before. Dazai fell apart quietly, elegantly. Like glass cracking under pressure, never loud, never chaotic. Nothing like this. Dazai trembled in his arms. His mouth opened in a silent gasp. Eye wide open and unfocused.
Grief. Fury. Terror.
All of it, caged inside a body that could no longer express it. So Ango did the only thing he can do and just holds him, just holds him until the shaking dulled and the world quieted around them.

Dazai wants to cry, to hug him, to scream. He wanted to beg him to not leave him, to take Dazai with him. But he can’t bring himself to be that selfish. He knows better than anyone what it is like to want to die. Odasaku knew from the moment he entered that he wasn’t going to leave this building alive.
“Odasaku, what will I do without you?”
Oda smiled at him before closing his eyes. A silence fell over the two for what felt like an eternity before Oda murmured.
"People live to save themselves. It's something they realize right before they die, huh...? Did you realize that too Dazai…?”

Osamu Dazai was, to put it lightly, a really weird kid. He could be childish and bubbly one moment, and then he would turn into a battle-hardened veteran the next. He was an executive, yet he was a child. The boy was a genius, yet couldn’t process his own emotions. He reminds Oda of a fox, or maybe a cat. Sly and cunning, smart and inquisitive, fearful and scared.

Chuuya was everything he wasn’t. He bleeds red, he was caring, he was loud and brash, his ocean blue eyes were so full of life while Dazai’s were a red void of despair.
Even though both of them were not human, Chuuya had the one thing he didn’t and would never have, humanity. To say Chuuya wasn’t human would be putting him in the same category as Dazai and that is the furthest thing from the truth.

Dazai laughed, a real laugh that reverberated in his hollow chest. He doesn’t remember the last time he laughed like this. How ironic that he truly thought he was human.

Izuku’s shoulders dropped slightly.
“I asked them if someone without a quirk could become a hero.”
Stendhal-san snorted. Izuku’s shoulders nearly covered his ears. He knew, he heard it from All Might already, he didn’t need to have Stendhal-san repeat it, too-
“Obviously,” Stendhal-san said, leaning back on his arms. “Quirks are merely tools; plenty of heroes have perfect quirks and not an ounce of heroism in their blood. You’re already more of a hero than numbers 2 through 10, combined.”
Izuku could feel the tears slipping down his cheeks, sobbing at the words he had been yearning to hear for so long.
“Did they- did they not say that?” Stendhal-san asked, startled by Izuku’s reaction.

Katsuki couldn’t believe he would say such a thing. Maybe it was true about some kids – Katsuki would never let himself get kidnapped by a villain, after all – but most kids weren’t any more powerful than Deku was, even if they did have quirks.

A short, mean, and disbelieving laugh bounces around the kitchen. “You’re joking.” Jason’s laughter turns into an outright cackle, and he has to put his coffee mug down on the counter to avoid spilling it.
“Back off.” Despite wanting to, Tim can’t hide the fact that his voice shakes, but suddenly his grip doesn’t. “Jason, I swear—”
“You gonna point that thing at me? You don’t even know what to do with it.”
The older boy is too close. Far too close. Tim flinches back, raises the gun, and without thinking about it presses it under Jason’s jaw.
All of a sudden, neither of them can breathe.
Jason’s eyes harden, glancing at the finger hovering over the trigger.
After a moment, Jason speaks up, almost softly— with how close they are, his voice doesn’t need to carry far. His voice goes flat. “This is hilarious.” The tone says otherwise.
