“Doctor?” She stepped closer, and the sound of her heels as they clicked against the floor dominated the noise for a moment.
“I didn’t know where else to go,” His voice was rough, and she distinctly heard a sniffle once she had gotten closer. The sound was almost painful to hear from him; a man who was always so full of child-like excitement and energy. “I don’t… I don’t have anybody else.” He had never been that vulnerable in front of her and it was scary, to think of what could have hurt him that bad to make him so vulnerable.
“Doctor?” She whispered, and placed her hand against his shoulder when she was stood close enough. “What happened?”
amy and rory are gone, and the doctor turns to the last person in the universe he had left.
