Even though the epiphany was sudden, unexpected, it wasn’t exactly surprising. After all, who else would Regulus ever fall in love with if not Barty? Who would Regulus ever love as much as he has loved Barty his entire life?
It’s just him and Barty, always have been, just the two of them until the end.
(or, a universe, where Regulus and Barty try to navigate through life together as members of a famous band, lose each other and then find their way back to each other again.)

Summary
Regulus is in search of change, for something to fill the ever growing void in his chest that has been inside him for as long as he can remember. He leaves Paris and his ballet company behind to move back to London, where his friends, his old company and his brother are waiting for him. He tries to fill the void with all sorts of unhealthy things, but something—rather someone keeps trying to get in the way.
James is happy with his life, he’s good at his job, he loves his friends, he has a nice flat, so why isn’t that enough? Why is the smile that he’s had plastered across his face all his life starting to feel forced? He’s met head on by a force of nature, a storm in the form of a mean, stubborn and ridiculously pretty ballet dancer and he starts to realise what he’s been missing all this time.

The girl and magic staff were nowhere to be seen, instead a fine layer of blue, shimmering dust covered the ground. In the center, where Red Hood and Nightwing should have been, was what looked like a pile of yellow and black fabric until it started shifting and moving, revealing itself to be two human forms.
Tim stopped dead in his tracks, nearly slipping in the dust, causing Robin — who was apparently right behind him — to crash into his back.
Robin mumbled a few curse words directed at him, but stopped short when he saw what was in front of them.
It was two young boys, both with messy black hair, both covered in a fine layer of glittering blue dust, and both wearing the old Robin costume. It was Dick's design, the brighter one, closer in color to what the Flying Graysons had worn, and with a startling lack of pants. But it was the one that Jason had worn too.
...
Or, Dick and Jason get de-aged by some magic, assumptions are made, and those assumptions are very, very wrong.

It hates them, and it wants to devour them. It’s salivating, just waiting for nightfall. It once left burn marks on Sirius’ back, so Sirius wants to expose it, and then burn it to the ground. It once drowned Regulus, and he doesn’t want to crawl out of the water again. He wants it all to end. He knows they have to do this. This house created them, and it ate them up, and it spit them out all scarred up. Just like their mother.
Sirius is the only person in the world who understands, and that’s precisely why Regulus delivers him these next words.
“If that something happens to James, then I will not forgive you.”

He’s never been one to get hungover, but he knows this is what it’s supposed to feel like. Although, come to think of it, he doesn’t remember celebrating their victory on the pitch, isn’t completely sure they had one at all. The last thing he remembers is turning to look to the stands, revelling in the roars of his fellow Gryffindors, certain that they were going to beat Hufflepuff. Then, he turned and… was hit square between the eyes with a bludger.
