“I never not trust you, Luc,” The omega retorts, “You’re one of the most excellent people in Mondstadt, how can I ever doubt you of anything-”
“Do you trust me when I say I love you?” Diluc’s voice lowers.
Kaeya flinches, then sheepishly averts his gaze, “I…I suppose you aren’t lying, but…”
“See, that’s the problem,” Diluc’s gaze softens as he caresses Kaeya’s cheeks, “You think you don’t deserve my love, and we’re going to fix that. I’m giving my all to show you how much I love you, and how far I’m willing to go to prove it.”

On a daily patrol, one of the knights happens to fall into a Cryo Regisvines land. Kaeya, being the only one with a vision jumps in there to save the knight, putting himself in danger instead.
Successfully getting the knight out, Kaeya is now trapped with the Cryo Regisvine, slowly freezing to his death, and being a Cryo vision wielder certainly doesn't help his case.

Summary
Kaeya hasn't seen Diluc's bare hands in years. Ever since that damned night in the rain, the man had stayed as covered up as a nun, always wearing his sword-wielding gloves as though in preparation for a fight.
Their relationship improves over the years and one night, when Kaeya is wasted and they are alone at the tavern, his alcohol-addled brain thinks that it's a brilliant idea to make an insane request.
That is, for Diluc to take off his gloves.
Or, Kaeya has some serious emotional baggage and ends up worshiping Diluc's hands as though they're the last things he'll ever see.

An expression of deep concern crosses Baizhu’s face. Brow knitted and eyes scanning him over, he says, ”You say you’re fine, yet you climbed over to stand on a ledge.” He pauses, almost pleading in his expression. “As a doctor, I cannot, in good conscience, simply leave you alone.”

Kaeya never wanted to betray the world.
In the war against Celestia, he fought alongside the warriors of Teyvat and aimed to overthrow the Unknown God, hoping to continue living his life alongside Diluc when it was over. While it was a turbulent relationship, it was one that he treasured above all. Little did he know that the Unknown God had other plans for him.
In the end, he never had a choice when he rips power away from Teyvat and takes over as the Last God. Soon after, Kaeya tries to end his own life and discovers that he cannot.
Kaeya becomes horribly lonely and his people soon pick up on it. Luckily for him, they hatch a plan to change that.

Kaeya is just working on an expedition to help the Adventurer's guild on Dragonspine. He wasn't expecting to run into Diluc there. And he wasn't expecting anything to really go wrong during his work.
Kinda written to cover Wine and Hearth's Kaeya birthday week day 3 prompt of body worship, but I probably didn't play into that well enough. So I guess it's more stand alone now.

"I bet you'd love to see me like that," Kaeya muses, ignoring Diluc's grand show of ignoring him by angrily wiping glasses. "I bet you'd enjoy putting me in my place, kneeling at your feet where I belong."
Flames burst in Diluc's gut, and it has nothing to do with his Vision.
"You're wasted," he barks, glaring daggers at the knight. "Shut up and get out before someone hears you."
Kaeya's lips – tinged a darker shade because of his drink of choice and swollen from where he's been chewing at them earlier – pull into a fake pout.
"So cruel." There's a put-upon whine in his voice as he stretches across the counter like he owns the place. Lower, in a conspiratorial whisper, he adds, "I could make it worth your while, you know. I'd look really good between your legs."
(Kaeya plays with fire, and Diluc lets him.)
