Alberu quickly let go of his wrist, hands hurrying to grab him before he could collapse.He stares down into the boy’s russet eyes, and they observe each other for a long moment.
Tasha sighs behind him, taking the boy from him and guiding him to a divan.
Cale sits obediently, and Alberu sits down across, ready to question him when-“I’m hungry.”
The redhead pouts, staring up at the prince with sad doe eyes.
The prince can only sigh.

A hand raised up to stop him and a sharp stone spear struck the ground just as he got near, forcing him to stop abruptly.
Still unmoving, Cale raised his head to stare at Alberu. They could not help but shiver.
There was a silent fire brewing within their depths. Tears had already fallen from devastated eyes.“Do not touch me, your royal highness,” His voice was ragged, rough from screaming, yet dangerously low.
“I will be tainted.”
bloodshot eyes shook in fury.
