Penelope turned to see Marina making her way towards them, a guy- George, she assumed, that was the only other name she’d ever heard Marina say when it came to work- close behind. Once they’d made their way through the crowd, Marina hugged Colin and then threw an arm around her. “You two have met already! Great! How did that happen?”
Colin looked at her with a little amused smirk that Penelope could confidently say right now would be the death of her. “Oh, you’re going to love this story, right, Pen?”
The use of the nickname almost startled her. She usually hated it when people called her Pen when they barely knew her; it felt like a level of familiarity that they didn’t have. But with Colin, she couldn’t bring herself to mind too much. Penelope smiled to mask her internal meltdown. It wasn’t like she didn’t already know, but this was most definitely Marina’s work crush Colin.
The same Colin she was maddeningly attracted to.
Fuck.
Penelope goes to a work party with Marina, looking forward to meeting this her work crush that she can't stop talking about, she doesn't expect to fall for him too.
