Mydei is stuck in a strange state of existence. While most believe him an alpha due to his outward appearance and reputation as a fierce warrior, he has no secondary gender and a limited sense of smell.
Usually, he wouldn’t care and even prefers not having to deal with heats and ruts, but lately, being around Phainon has him feeling off-center. There’s a weird prickling sensation in his nape that won’t go away, and his entire body heats up at even the slightest provocation.
Is he, somehow, growing allergic to Phainon? Is that what this is?
Alternatively, Mydei presents as an omega because of one very oblivious Deliverer and has to deal with the consequences.

Alhaitham gathers up the courage to peek open his eyes. He opens them just in time to see something in Kaveh’s face shift again, softening even further, becoming something so tender that it hurts to look at. Alhaitham closes his eyes again.
“Oh,” Kaveh whispers, leaning in and placing a kiss on Alhaitham’s forehead. When he pulls back, his voice is so impossibly soft. “You’re just so little, aren’t you, Hayi?”

Alhaitham doesn’t know when it started happening nor does he know why it did in the first place.
By "it," he means the forehead kisses–the lips being pressed on the surface of his forehead, ever so gently that he needs to clench his fists slightly because the feeling tickles so much. And for some reason, it only happens when he’s asleep. Or at least, when Kaveh thinks he’s asleep.
Or, the several times Kaveh gives Alhaitham forehead kisses when he's asleep. Alhaitham wants it to happen when he's awake.

It takes a moment for Kaveh to process the words. When he does, he lowers his head slightly, his fuzzy gaze landing on the turquoise figure looming at the end of his bed.
“…Alhaitham?” he utters.
“That’s good,” Tighnari comments, “he recognises you too.”

Kaveh gets a concussion, and finds himself slipping into an unfamiliar mindset as he copes with the pain and confusion. Even more confusing — Alhaitham seems to know exactly what’s going on.
